I've had diabetes for 16 years. I never really took the disease seriously, until now.
I have lots of hobbies, but my favorite is cooking. I love cooking and baking and anything that can be done in the kitchen. The funny thing - I just started getting into this cooking thing a little over a year ago.
Other than cooking and kitchen stuff, I love reading, writing, drawing, photography, and learning new things. I try to learn something new everyday.
I also love spending time with my two dachshunds - Ricky and Abigail. They are adorable and very much the opposite of each other.
Personal Goals:
I have 3 personal goals. The first goal is to get better control of my numbers. They are pretty much all over the place.
The second goals is to lose weight. Nothing drastic but enough to feel confortable with myself.
And the third goal is to stay with a program from my medications and insulins. I'm not consistant.
Favorite Music:
I love every kind of music, especially something with a good beat. Something to move to.
Favorite Movies:
Anything classic! But if I had to choose one it would be Some Like It Hot. That has been my favorite since I was a kid.
Favorite TV Shows
Anything that has to do with food and the paranormal. Ex - Ghost Hunters, Paranormal State, Ghost Adventurers, Most Haunted, Extreme Paranormal, Ghost Lab, etc)
Favorite Books:
Any good cookbook. I love looking through those. I also like anything by Stephen King, Dean Koontz, and Jeffery Deaver. I'll also read anything on diabetes.
Vices:
I guess food.
Virtues:
I'm a good listener and problem solver (for other people).
I watch everything I put into my mouth, and YES! I eat candy or cookies every other day. I do check the sugar contend and the candy is a very small piece. I'd like to one day be off the meds I take. Good luck with maintaining your sugar levels
