I was diagnosis in 2000 but I had symptoms several years prior but was in denial. Several family members are diabetes,I am the last of six children so I knew the signs. I was the healthy,exercised and ate healthier so I couldn't be diabetic. In Feb 2009 I found out not only was I diabetic but also have a disfunctional pancreas. No I am not a drinker. It is hereditary pancreatitis. Life became a real struggle which by 2006 the worst but the best thing happened to me. I developed a 15cm by 5cm psuedocyte and learn of a Large teaching hospital in my area which did my surgery and saved my life. Many solved complications later, here I am. And I am learning everyday to accept me just the way I am. Illness and all, I have started taking one day at a time and being truly grateful for each day. And counting my blessing each and every day. This group is one of them.
