I've been a type 1 since age 11.  My son has Asperger's syndrome (high functioning autism).  I'd never considered that there might be a connection, but reading this makes me wonder ...

I've seen posts from other parents of diabetic and autistic kids on the Juvenile Diabetes Research Foundation's website forums.  juvenation.org/search/searchresults.aspx...
