I use MIO all the time. Only flavor I don't like is the lemonade. I think it has an after taste. My favorite is Peach. I keep reading about the type of sweetener used. If you really look at it, everything is bad for you if by into the idea.

I use it. It has not affected my BG at all. In fact they have been trending lower; but that could be for other reasons. I stopped drinking diet soda because my dentist said the acid was eroding the enamel on my teeth and is not good for other reasons. Also it is important to keep my fluid intake up according to my doctor. I am not concerned about the artificial sweetener because one only uses a small amount of MiO in 8-12 ounces of water. Also, what I have read about the research on effects of various sweeteners indicates the fears may be exaggerated. However, I would prefer if it used Stevia. As for that and taste, each to his/her own preferences. The only "yogurt" I eat is the Carbmaster made by/for Kroger chain stores. It has only 4 carbs per container. Yes it uses some artificial sweetener, but is low fat and low calorie. As with most diabetes matters, I think there is no "one size fits all." ................................................................. 1,000 mg Metformin ER twice a day (2g total). 2.5 mg Enalapril to protect kidneys.

I won't use it because of the type of artificial sweeteners in it. This page has medical reports about NutraSweet (aspartame) on it, with a link to Splenda (sucralose) part way down the page, with hundreds of pages of the adverse affects of these two chemical compounds. www.holisticmed.com/aspartame/ The above website is also referenced on the Live Strong website at www.livestrong.com/article/389334-a-list...

I use it every day. Not to flavor water but to flavor my nonfat plain greek yogurt. I like the flavors and it doesn't add any carbs.

I haven't used it because it sounds similar to a product I tried 50+ years ago that tasted like flavored Alka Seltzer tablets.

Could we maybe get a reading from a CDE on this one? I have found I am really enjoying the flavor of this- but like all 'good things' I worry about it- and several comments here, but no REAL info... Anyone?? Thanks (and yes I know it does not contain auto part chemicals :))

Has anyone else used MIO? Has it had an affect on your blood sugar readings? Ive been using MIO for the past week and my reading have been higher than usual. I didnt think about it being the MIO until today...so I am going to quit drinking MIO and see if thats what it is.
500 mg Metformin ER 2x a day and 30 minutes on the treadmill every morning.

Another thing that makes it sweet tasting is the 3rd ingrediant in the list of ingrediants, it is the same thing that is in Anti-freeze that makes it sweet smelling and sweet tasting for animals like dogs. Just be careful with it.
You are thinking of ethylene glycol, which is NOT in MIO, is used in automotive antifreeze. It is poisonous to animals and humans. en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Ethylene_glycol Propylene glycol, the 3rd ingredient in MIO, is used in many non-toxic ways, including medicines and toothpaste. en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Propylene_glycol
