Congratulations on your weight loss.  14 lbs is a lot and I am sure that it is making a difference.  You definitely can have a cookie if you count it as a carb unit.  Sounds like you probably had one less carb unit if you would have ate two slices of bread for the sandwich and the cookie was probably one.  I hope you feel ok when your at 87 for always.  I feel ill when mine is that low but since your numbers have been so good it probably wasn't a huge drop for you.  I know it is ok to have numbers stabilized that low.  I guess it is all different with all of us.

Sorry to hear of your loss Nancy.  I hope you are doing well.  I weighed in today at 182.5.  Very happy with a loss of 3.5 lbs for the month.  Slow and steady works for me.  And that was after a long camping vacation.  Blood sugars have been stable and under 120.  Some are even lower.  I do have a question, I was really craving a cookie.  Now I am not normally a sweets person, but the cookie was really calling my name.  My dietician said an occasional cookie or sweet is ok as long as I count it as the carb that it is.  I ate the cookie and enjoyed every bite of it.  One cookie was enough to satisfy, I skipped the bread that would have went with my sandwich and just ate the filling, carrot sticks and drank plenty of water for the rest of my lunch.  Two hours later blood sugar was 87.  I thought sugar was supposed to make it go really high?  I didn't feel like it was crashing from sugar and ate dinner at the normal time and felt fine the rest of the day.  I am also wondering if my recent weight loss is really helping my blood sugars as well?  I have now lost about 14lbs total.  I guess maybe a carb is a carb no matter what it is?  Any thoughts you guys might have would be great.  Thanks, Melinda

WT.182.4, down a bit. Cool  I am happy. A bit late posting as I was out,traveling again for next 2 days. I am at a Conference, food a challenge. I will do my best. Thank you for your thoughts for the loss of Jason.

Seeing the weightloss threads aways makes me feel good inside and so very nice to see.
It makes me feel like there is some hope for this forum.  Even if I am not ready to join it thank you for making it Nancy and sorry
for your losee.

I need to lose weight too, so I will definitely join with you on your quest.  I now weigh 209lbs.  The heaviest I've ever been.  I belong to a gym and can go to Curves if I want, but I have no one to cheer me on or motivate me.  From what I've read, you all are doing pretty good. Keep up the good work!

This has been a tough week, my nephew passed away. I didn't weight in. I have not been focused. I need to get my act together and see a loss next week. Hope you are doing well. Nancy

I can relate, only I am younger and not at all accepting what I see on the scale.  I am 41 and weigh 186.  I started out about a month and a half ago at 196 so have lost 10 lbs so far.  I have set smaller goals for myself so I dot get disappointed.  I don't expect to get down to 125 but I would be happy with 150.  Which by doctors standars is still to heavy for me.  Small frame  and 5'4.  But what I have been really doing to loose weight I really paying attention to when I have eaten enough.  I used to eat so much I felt sick afterward, now I eat a lot less and think to myself is that enough to shut my stomach up and to keep my blood sugarlevel, if the answer is yes, I stop eating, knowing I can always have some nuts or someing in a few hours if I get hungry again.  I think that has made all the difference for me.

Hi,Faith. Oh how I can relate to what you wrote. I am soon to be 60 and am accepting who I am. I had to work on my mental health to learn I am ok, even being 30 pounds over weight. I weighed in this morning at 182.6 up a bit but I expected it I tend to bounce around before I get lower.  Now I work on my health. Coming here is a help. It is nice to "talk" with people who understand.  I weigh a lot but I am ok with what I see on the scale. Maybe it is age, I just am accepting of who I am. Nancy
