Way to go Bandito!  I am so happy for you.  I love the feeling of victory that happens when we successfully navigate these types of events.  I am really struggling with control these days....not that I am out of control but rather that I am not as in control as I would like to be.  I fell of the chocolate wagon before halloween and am having a hard time getting back to the strick diet I was following.  Work has been incredibly busy too so the exercise plan has not been as strickly followed as I would like.  This week I am getting back on track and hope to keep maintaining over the holidays....perhaps even lose a pound or two.Embarassed

Down to 176 this morning so down 6 lbs this month.  Woo Hoo!  Thanksgiving went well.  Blood sugars after dinner was 122.  Had turkey, stuffing, potatoes and gravey, vegetable and deveiled egg.  Kept the stuffing and potatoes to under a 1/2 cup each so I didn't go over board and then when everyone was ready to have a nap on the couch I got them all up for a walk.  I also had two tiny slivers of pecan and pumpkin pie with whipped cream and blood sugar was 136 so a little higher than I like but not outrageous for pie.  Overall a good Thanksgiving and I still lost weight.  Hang in there Nancy you have a few more days this month to lose a couple of extra pounds :). Hope you had a great holiday!

Count me in for the month.  Started out at 182 and have lost 3lbs so far this month.  Seems like nowthat the doctor has things working correctly in my body the weight is coming off with the effort I put in.  Before I would work really hard at exercise and eating well to no avail, now the weight comes off easily for now.  Finally feel like my efforts are being rewarded.  It doesn't come off fast for me, 5 or 6 lbs a month but I am very happy with that!  The slower the better chance I have of keeping it off and making these changes permanent.

Good luck Nancy and I hope you feel better soon!

November is a food focus month . stress of upcoming holidays can make it a difficult time. So here is some information:

Address your mental state. Without realizing it, many people use food as a comfort, distraction, pleasure, or as a buffer for stress and other negative emotions. Similar to smokers and alcoholics, some people are psychologically "addicted" to food, and they use it as a way of self-medicating an underlying problem. If you think you habitually use food to make yourself feel better, talk to a mental health counselor.
