It is not something I would have a problem living with, just curious. I looked up Lantus and did not see this as a side effect.

I've not heard of this either. Some people who get a rash or skin reaction from Lantus do okay on Levemir. Best to call your physician and see what he or she recommends.

It probably isn't your imagination at all. I had a side effect of a medication just like that years ago. First I would check my mouth to see if there is any problems with the skin and the gums. I would also check all the side effects of Lantus; common and rare. I think it is a good idea to check with your doctor. I doubt if this is really a serious issue and might pass with time, but it always pays to be careful. Do you take other meds that might be interacting with it? Like all medications it varies with mileage and person. I don't want you to feel like a hypochroniac because I really do believe it and experienced with a med once. I hope you didnt feel ignored. I just don't think a lot of people have gone through this. Sally

Age 70, diagnosed with T2D 4 years ago, controlled with diet and exercise until recently. Started on Lantus 2 weeds ago. Notice a metallic taste in mouth about 10 minutes after injection. Is this my imagination?
