With just the Nike App runs (walks for we old fat men with bad knees) I logged a total of 83.69 miles for the month of April. I had a poor showing for a couple of weeks.. but I'm still pretty happy..

We got the new Iphone4S at work.. notice the Nike+ ap.. went out and bought the starter kit.. didnt need anything but the sensor (the phone has the chip in it). Im having fun playing with it. I had to buy a clip for the sensor or I'd have to shell out the xtra $ for the Nike + shoes with the chamber in the sole.. but it was 7 bucks of amazon.. seems to work great and its fun to see and share progress.. even though its for runners.. we walkers can see progress also!

I find now that if I miss a day of exercise that I get pretty upset withmyself. I worked too late Sunday to make it to either the gym or to walk on the track and it bothered me.. then Monday I had to register to get my background check and the drive 200 miles round trip to have my fingerprints taken so they could get started on the background. This is something that is just silly. I am a commercial driver and have been since 1983.. I have had he Hazardouns Materials Endorsement on my license since then, now every time I renew. I have to pay almost $90.00 to have a background done.. anyway.. that took most of the day, got to work later than normal and then all heck broke loose and I was there well past midnight... ugh!

I did get up have breakfast and get im my 5k and plan on doing the same tomorrow.. Not sure if I'm doing anything right, but I'm doing something!

This site has really been less that cooperative lately? Well, I got the bug and have been doing 5ks on the treadmill, a few times on the ellipitcal and a couple times on the bike.. I clocked close to 70 miles in January.. Yesterday after a recovery day, I did a 5k yesterday and today since I worked past closing of the YMCA.. I went to the local high school (its got a synthetic track) and walked 3.5 miles.. 3.25 and then .25 to cool down.. No running yet and maybe never.. dont want to make my "Frankenknee" rebel.

My doctor was pretty happy last visit.. BP down, weight down 6 pounds (not super happy about that personally) and I mentioned that i was doing 5ks and he gave me "the look".. I explained that I was way too fat to run and was walking them at a 3 - 3.7 mph pace. He brightened up and said that he tells his patients that there are two reasons to run... one, if your house is on fire.. or two, if you are being chased by a large animal with sharp teeth.

Not feeling a whole lot different other than just wanting to go and excerise.

how are you doing with your exercise ? My pool had frozen pipes and was closed for 3 days. It has been way below zero here. Nancy13

I have not missed a night since starting.. I almost wussed out today as I have blisters on my big toes from not wearing socks with my vibram shoes last night. I ate dinner, then felt guilty so I geared up and headed for the fitness center in the hotel and rode the bike for 50 minutes.. whew.. that was tougher than I thought it would be. A nice dip in the pool, then a soak in the hot tub and a hot shower... I feel pretty damn good ... no thinner.. but better! Laughing

Nothing major.. just the treadmill for 40 minutes.. (5 minutes of warm up and and 5 cool down). Right at 2 miles (1.96). Kind of shameful really.. but I am trying to train myself to train myself to get back out there.
