Do you have any foods that triggers low blood sugars? I know in recent weeks I have had a few too many bouts with low blood sugars. I rarely have them -probably almost 2 years since my last until the recent episodes.
But I do have one thought. Each time I have had an episode, I have had high fiber Oatmeal for breakfast and by lunch I'm in the 50's. I even went as far as not taking insulin today to account for my breakfast. I did have a morning snack and I took insulin according to the package. by 2:00 p.m., my blood sugar read 51. This time I could actually feel it (last week 55 and 67 did not make me feel any different). -Thinking back, it was attributed to the Oatmeal and my Nurse told me to reduce the carb count by the amount of fiber in the Oatmeal (the oatmeal is 34 grams of carbs and 10 grams of fiber, so my carb count is 24).
One thing for sure, as of today -I am on a high fiber Oatmeal vacation.
Now to come up with another decent and filling breakfast.
Thomas everything bagel thins, low fat cream cheese, boiled egg and fruit...maybe. I don't like Oatmeal anyway.
I really wish I would have thought of this before I came in for the night. Trying to resist the vending machine temptation, so early rise and to the grocery store I go.
